    Apex DVD players

question for all of you out there:
Do you have any experience with Apex DVD players? I've been looking at reviews of them on epinions.com, and they seem to have performed well for the price. I'm looking for a cheap player, and the Apex line seemed packed with features for the price.
My question: have any of you owned one, and if so how has it been from a performance/durability standpoint?
    thanks

i had the 600a with all the loopholes, when it first came out. The picture quality was below par on it, and i didnt really see the needs for the "benefits?" so i sold it.

I would recommend getting a better brand dvd player. I currently own both a toshiba and panasonic model. Both brands you can find in the <150 for a much superior player than the apex.

Don't risk your money on a subpar player. Whether it's the multiregion feature or the MP3 or the CD-r/w reading capabilities you want, there are better players for slightly higher prices that do all that. Make the investment. It's worth it.

    thanks for the replies guys.
i'll probably go for something that's a little more expensive and a little better brand. as ucbstan says, it's probably worth the money.
but due to my recent car problems, i probably won't be spending money on electronics for a least a couple weeks....

What did you think of the Region Free Pioneer player I got in the other thread?? It pretty much does the same thing. Regionfree, Macro disabled, VCD, SVCD, CD-r, CD-rw, MP3 (with a great navigation system - one of the few systems with random play) and it's a highly rated quality Pioneer player. I'm not sure what your budget is, but you can get it for $299.
