I thought only the Audigy came with Firewire ports, because if so, that would cut your list down a bit. As for the rest, I thought the only real difference between Audigy cards (oem vs retail/ MP3 vs gamer) is the software.

    Lightbulb

Audigy is the one to get. Which one to get depends on whether you want the software that comes with the retail versions.

Assnips - No....90 is not worth it. If he's just giving you the card then it's a ripoff. It it were the card and the live drive, then it would be a deal. If he just gave you the card it would be like giving you an OEM card. Get the gamer.

I don't think this'll stop anything though - the better you idiot-proof a system, the more impressive the idiot becomes.

The Audigy is the newest sound card from Creative. The 5.1 is the penultimate card from them. The difference between the MP3+ Audigy Retail and Audigy OEM is that the OEM has no software. It is the same card. I would go with the Audigy OEM unless you really want the MP3 Software.

Also, the OEM has plastic multi colored connectors instead of gold. This is in reference to OEM vs Retail. Just thought you should know.

    Red face

Actually, CAD is computer assisted design.

and G|A means nothing... however, G|A? means, Got|Apex?...
