ntldr missing problem ! pelase help =)

hey everybody, I'm in a bit of a pickle. i was running a dual boot [win2k and mandrake] until i formatted so i could just run a single os. well, now i keep getting this "NTLDR missing" error.
i've tried to copy the sys files from the boot disk to the hard drive, but that didnt work. I also tried to clear the boot sector of the drive, and i think i did it correctly because fdisk didnt show a partition after i did it...

how can i get rid of this problem??
    it wasnt me.......

    Try this -

    Boot from a Win98 floppy & run 'fdisk /mbr'

That should clear things up for you. Some versions of Linux write some stuff to the master boot record that NT won't overwrite. Unless you reset the MBR you can't boot anymore.
