    Why do y'all spell this word like this...is it something that's a in the GAM's book of rules & regulations?

    Well, it's not prOn, it's pr0N. A zero, not an 'O'. It's done to get past online filters.

    also, its too keep people searching for porn from coming up with your site. People never search for pr0n, so your site will never come up (it wont have any pr0n on it anyways...)

    It's an old story. Before Internet became common BBSes were the popular online medium. Some kid went on one and asked where the Pron was, misspelling it in his haste to find nekkid women.
    He was leapt upon immediately by the BBS's Typo Nazi!
    To make his error more obvious he replaced the errant "o" with "0". He and others proceeded to mock the youth about his desire for Pr0n as the board in question did not have that sort of wares and they considered it beneath them. They started referring to is as Pr0n and it spread from there. And they all lived happily ever after. The End.
