okay, nodamnedsense is the dark-haired banjo picker, positiverolemodel is the blond geetar picker... y'all should be able to figger out which one i am, on fiddle and mandolin... and the last pic is evilgremlin on the "oh wow beeg feedoo" (big fiddle). it's six feet tall... he ran screaming from it when it first arrived... just got up the sack to approach it this morning. i think he has made his peace with it...

Acceptance is frequently taken as approval. Maybe you should tell your friend that it makes you uncomfortable because of the racist conotations.
I believe that a lot of southerners cling to the Confederate flag because it is a symbol of defiance to authority, they end up accepting and enforcing the racisim in support of the symbol. They should find a new symbol to defy authority, one that doesn't carry so much baggage with it.

i call positiverolemodel a blonde because he's of scandihoovian descent, and his light brown hair looks almost blonde in comparison to me n nodamn - we's both 1/4 injun. it looks blonder past the roots...

That's not really how it is. The confederate flag does not bother me at all. I guess you can take that as supporting racism but take it as you will. And DF, just because people believe certain stuff and are hicks doesn't NECESSARILY mean they'd do anything to a black person. I KNOW these people wouldn't. It's not like all middle easterners ram planes into buildings right? Eventhough they might hate America.

At the rate that northern cities are internally collapsing and their resultant tax burdens , forcing people to move to North Carolina, South Carolina, Fla., etc, the South may indeed rise again.
Keep the Confederate flag around. It may come in handy.
