Access Denied when playing Divx files???

Yet another XP problem. or is it just my ignorance? I'm using XP Pro. What happened was that I moved a whole bunch of Divx movie files from the Morpheus Shared Folder to a subfolder inside the Morpheus Shared Folder. Following me? Now everytime I try to open the newly moved files, I get an error saying access denied...file already in use. I can't move the file now, or rename or delete. I can't do anything with them. Can anybody help? It will be most appreciated.

I retrace my steps and it always happens when I move a Divx movie file (might be any media file for that case, I didn't test cuz i'm afraid of causing more damage ) from its original downloaded folder.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Nevermind, I figured it out finally. Had to go into Safe Mode and give someone control over the files or something like that. Neither the system or administrator had control over the files for some reason. Weird. Learning XP as i go.

Hmm.. you know... I know you already figured it out... but what I was going to say is, I think Morpheus has to be shut down before you can transfer files out of the folder. Otherwise, they are being "used" by Morpheus.

I think that's only true if someone happens to be downloading a particular file at that moment, and then that file is locked.

Sounds like Silver had a permissions problem.

Yeah, that might be it... I could hardly keep a program in my folder for more than 5 mins before multiple people tried downloading it.

I'm usually able to move them out into other folders, etc. But I use Win2k. I do occasionally get those errors for some reason, and I'd restart the computer, and then sometimes I'm able to move it. I'd get strange errors deleting some files too.. Weirdo Windows..

ive had similar moving some audio and video files in win2k. usually its because explorer is using the thumbnail feature and that is holding it up. ive been able to move them if i use the cut command on the file then select another file, usually a video file, and then paste it where i want to move it to.
