looking for sewing machine

My girl is looking for a sewing machine. Any good deals out there?

Well, what is she going to be doing with the machine? Mending, crafts, light weight beginner stuff? Or is she the type that makes her own clothes and drapes and will be working with heavy material a lot?

I do a lot of light stuff and only bring mine out about once every 4-6 months. It's a Brother from walmart for under $80. The best machines, IMO, are Singers. Sears has good prices on these.

www.joann.com has two coupons in the db. Their machines start at $129. They also have free shipping for purchases over $250. They carry Whites machines.

Also, be looking for a carrying case or a table for storage of the unit. This helps keep the dust away and also storage for the extra bobbins, threads, needles and cleaning supplies needed for cleaning the machine.
