    Brotherhood of the Wolves

I just saw Brotherhood tonight. It was very enjoyable. Quite spectacular cinematography. Enjoyable plot. Blood. Guts. Naked women. Great action scenes.

Just a warning though, it is in french so its subtitled, but still enjoyable.
Welcome my son, welcome to the machine...Where have you been? It's alright we know where you've been....

Yeah when I went back home to Korea summer of 2001, I saw posters all over the place for the VIDEO RELEASE of Brotherhood of the Wolves. The poster said it was a major blockbuster that had attracted audiences by the millions. WHAT?? A success that huge that I'd never even heard of?? what's up with that?? Yeah... who'd have known?? It came out in Europe and not in the States.

I just saw it last night.

Mmmmmmmmmm... Marianne de Morangias. Her name is Emilie Dequenne and she is only 20 years old and she is Belgian.

Damn, I need subtitles for these:

this movie sucked. It was basically french martial arts. Execution of plot sucked. Fighting scenes were pretty tight though. The opening scene where they ride in and the one dude steps off his horse, that's the best scene. It all goes downhill from there.

This was pretty good ... for a foreign film.

The film must have cost a bundle ... the fight choreography was impressive, the story was well-developed, and the costumes and set were beautiful.

I'm not so hot about the film's cinematography -- sometimes the scenes were in slow-mo, sometimes they went at double speed. It might have been "artsy," but the only effect it had on me was a headache.
