    Did it actually feel faster than 53K or do you think windows just messed up and detected the wrong speed? Did you run any speed tests to verify?

    Thats not the speed you connected to your isp at, thats the speed your computer connected to the modem at, the com speed.

    You can also put in an init string to make it read the same thing.

    I use to have eu's put it in when they said they were connecting at a slow speed, just to get them off the phone. Needless to say, they were highly impressed.

    Sometimes windows will missreport the internet speed. Instead of showing the speed your connected to the internet at it will show the speed your computer is connected to your modem.

    heh so it is like mine says 100.0 Mbps ( my to my router ) but my DSL is only 1.5 Mbps
