Does Windows NT not run .exe files?

I am trying to install something on my NT Server. IT is an .exe file that is supposed to be compatible with all Windows systems. However when I try to run it, Windows gives me the error that it is not one of the known file types. Does Win NT not run .exe files? Or perhaps is it an Administrator logon thing. The profile that I logged in as has Admin priviledges, but does it have to be the actual Administrator profile to run new programs?

    Thanks!

I can't give you too much insight to your problem but NT Server does in fact run .exe (executable) files. As you have already mentioned, you might want to login as Administrator to install the software. There are some software that have this requirement as part of the installation but usually they tell you about this. Another possibility, assuming it's software is that you downloaded, is obviously a corrupt file. Good luck.
