My wonderful new region-free DVD Player
I just got a new DVD Player. It's the Pioneer DV-440. This little player (2inches thick) is getting rave reviews in terms of video/audio quality. And I managed to find a couple places that sold the Multi-Region version of it. It was $299. My DVD collection is mostly Region 1, but I'm also buying lots of Japanese Region 2 movies and Korean Region 3 movies too these days so this gadget is a great thing for me. It also plays VCDs, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3s. And it supposedly has one of the best MP3 navigation systems. I haven't tried it out too much yet. I'll let you know how it is. Here is a link.

For those of you looking for a good region free player this looks like a great choice, because unlike many of the region free players out there with shady brands, this one is based on a solid product to begin with.

is this the one you ordered from that potentially shady place in chicago? if so, i'm glad they came through for you
HAHA yup that's the one!! Everything worked out rather well.
They have a multi-region version of the Pioneer DV-444. They say it's progressive, but I've heard it's not "true" progressive. It just emulates it or something. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm sure it's a little better than non-progressive....
Help me.. i want one!.. and yes I'm serious... any way I can get my hands on one of these?
Thta's the cheapest place I found it for. Most places were at least $40-50 more expensive. Check it out. But FYI!! read this thread first if you decide to order. It somewhat summarizes my ordering experience with them.
I think i'll stick w/ the daewoo DVG3000N player.. same features. too bad it's $170... when retail is only $100.. should have bought one when they had them in stock everywhere...
