Question quick question: dvd players for tv (not computers)

the other day, after watching "gladiator" twice, my sound became choppy. it's like all that crap when the audio on regular tv goes to crap and a tech at the station has to fix it. the video is fine.

i was thinkin that i had to clean the head or something with one of them cleaner deals. but i thought it was too soon for something like that. i've had the player for almost 2 yrs, but haven't used it a whole lot really.

how often do you gotta clean them things? any other ideas?

btw, i just put in an audio cd and it plays very slowly...like half speed or something.

I made the mistake of buying a Sharp DVD player for my first DVD player. It was great for the first year, but then it started gettinweird. If the component is under warenty, take it back.

If it's not under warranty, ebay it or burn it.

Yeah, cuz cleaning it won't work. If it is playing the video fine, the lazer is okay. Sounds like something else is going out.

    is the model still available.

just a thought. can switch it in box, say wife hated it.

or. call RCA. or have a RCA certified electronics shop slean it for you. dirt on the disc doesnt usually degrade audio, as its read digitally, it shouldnt be playing at all. missing 1's or 0's.

but, my point is.if sound is having problems, check cables, then check how tight connections are. something is not right, and im not thinking its the lense. unless you know dust get in there alot.
