    Microsoft is having launch events around the country at some campuses near you! Space is limited. Not clear whether or not you must be a student, but try anyways! I know my campus - San Jose State Univ is already filled, good luck to the rest of you!

    It doesn't mention anywhere having to be a student at whatever school they're going to be at, only that you have to be a student/faculty member at a university with a valid ID.

    Hmph! NO FAIR! -2 spots?! I wouldnt mind sitting on the floor! FREE STUFF! I wonder what kind of free food or refreshments they might have too.. Who can turn down free food?!

    I hope they allow high school teachers to go...I'm more likely to volume purchase than most college faculty...I'm my districts technology consultant. We'll see.

    I don't see why not =) it didn't say you must be a "college" faculty member, or etc. Doesn't hurt to try! Just as long as you have proper ID. OR if you still have old identification cards. I'm doubt they'll be extremely strict about it.

    anyone going to the one at ucla?

    hi,
    i'm a newbie. first post. *yay* even though i've been going to gp for awhile. but yea....anyone going 2 the one held at ucla? my friend signed me up 4 it...JUST bcuz of all the free stuff. xept i have no one 2 go with. the one who signed me up back out cuz of a midterm. so UGHHH! okay...bye.

    When'd you last attend a school/college/univ? just show any of those ID's if u still have 'em around, it shuold suffice! i doubt they'll really grill you that hard bout it... but i guess too late eh?

    yeah too late, and well my last schol ID was hum '95
