    swimwear

so i'm thinkin of buyin a two-piece this year, for the first time ever... i think it'd look pretty good cept for the bit o crinkly skin i gots about the belly.

from the boys: what do you prefer to see on a girl? do you just cringe if you see a girl in a two-piece and she doesn't have an absolutely perfect belly, or is more skin better on any reasonably good-looking girl?

from the girls: are they just an impossible pain in the butt to try to swim in? i mean, can you do some reasonably athletic stuff without falling out of them, or do you spend the entire time wandering around the pool tugging on them to keep them in place?

i just don't want to pop some ungodly amount of money on one and then never wear it.

i was thinkin about this one from victoria's secret:

the top is the miracle bra triangle, meaning it ties behind the neck, so i wouldn't have to worry about the straps falling off the shoulders...

i love being able to ask detailed questions about trivial stuff knowing that i will get good answers from a whole mess o ppl...

so, um, show us a pic of your bare midriff (just the midfiff, not anything else bare.) and the guys will give you a COMPLETELY honest opinion of wheather or not they think you'll look ok, or look good in a 2-piece.... but be prepared for some maybe not-so-nice comments if you do post a pic. (i actually suggest you DONT post one).

    tankini

its the perfect solution for those of us who don't look like VS models....

but seriously, the few real bikini's that i've owned were more for show then for swim. but that also depends on where u are swimming, and the intensity of the activity.

i always go to the ocean, and one slight wave can pull a top (or bottom for that matter) off. but if u are just going to be lounging around a pool, go for it.

and i have no idea what u look like in a bathing suit, but my motto is and will always be "spandex is a privilage, not a right." so, if you look really good in a one peice or a more modest two peice, don't just show skin because you can. why look trashy and fat when you can look sexy and fit?
i'd rather be down the shore
OH SNAP! guess where I am?

I was living down the jersey shore before Jersey Shore.

How does anyone even watch that show???

If you have the body for it, two piece. Nicer to look at, easier to remove.

i'm prolly more conservative than most peeps here. when i went to hawaii, the girl that went wif me wore board shorts and some sporty top looking thing. i liked it fine. i mean...i don't see reason to bare all for a bunch of strangers. but that's just me.

I think if you make sure it is well fitting, you know, not too baggy, you shouldn't have any problems swimming in it. Don't you just hate how expensive swimsuits are?!?

Have you seen those suits with a higher bottom and a longer top. I think they are cute too.

Two piece for tanning, one piece for water activity, preferably NOT one that creeps up my ass. Half the time I just go in the water with cut off levi's and any top that I have handy, but that's at the lake..if I was on a beach-definately some good kind of tanning suit.

    UGG!

I was just thinking about buying a suit too. We are planning our family vacation and I need a new one.

I was looking at www.lifestylesdirect.com (I posted a deal a few weeks ago) for a suit. I like some of their patterns.

As for 2 or 1 piece suits. My belly gives me no issues. It's my backside. I have a dimpled butt/thigh area I had it when I was a size 6, I have it now at a 12

I would love to have a two piece. I have been thinking about it heavily, but the less fabric I wear, the less secure I feel (figure that's about true with a lot of people). Maybe if I get one of those cover up thingies... sarong or a shirt type thing...

I would prob look better tanned. But I don't tan well. I go from pale white to pink then to red. It takes me most of the summer to tan.

hehe, that should have been an option, full body coverage from neck to ankle

Good looking chicks look good in a two piece, one piece or a trash bag. Ugly girls look ugly in a two piece, one piece and REALLY ugly in a trash bag. If you're wearing something trying to look sexy, then ya, I'd go for a two piece. But wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. You don't want to be worried about something stupid the entire time you're wearing it. That purple one would look good, go for it.

why is this such a little know fact?

    lol

Actually, what Mojo said is true... a little tee-shirt tied below the boosom, and a pair of little shorts is just as nice as a 2-piece suit, unless you're traying to tan...

also, those sports bras are pretty good lookin on some gals.

heh *cringe* nah, i won't post it... it is flat, and the right shape and size, but when i bend over, the skin is crinkly... just kinda loose and moves funny. you can tell i've had a kid. so i'm guessing teenage guys would think, ew, what is that woman thinking, and guys in their twenties and thirties - most of the women in their peer group have had kids - wouldn't be bothered. but the only ppl who would see it are close friends and family... my parents' pool and the pool at my housing complex'd be the only place i'd wear it. and it's for positiverolemodel's benefit, and nobody else'd really give a rat's ass...

i'll make a decision based on opinions in general, rather than a detailed appraisal of my body...

just keep with the one piece then.. positive role model will like you just fine without you trying to show him just a little extra waist...

but you'll probably be good in the 2piece too...

do it up in the 2 piece...if your tummy is flat and not flabby, then you should...i mean you say it's crinkly when you bend over, but c'mon, how much will you be bending over?

I gotta go with mojo on this one.

I find it extremely attractive for her to be in shorts and either a bikini top or excercising top thing.

It just seems more casual to me and I like casual.

Kinda like the belly button ring...for some reason I find that extremely sexy.

i say go with the two piece.

you said theres nothing wrong with you and i think 2 pieces are better than one pieces. Besides, like aglio said you wont be bending over that much. When youre out of the pool youll have a towel or whatever on and when youre in the pool it wont make that much difference cause people cant really see well under water.

So lemme guess ... styleee had a male avatar, so you automatically assumed she was a HE. Based on that logic, Nano's a CHICK!

... and back on topic, I think tankini's are adorable!

Judging from the little itty bitty peep of a midsection we saw from your photo with positiverolemodel, you can pull off a two-piece bikini with no probs. Have fun!

So it's like a bottom plus a halter top (is that what hey're called? i'm not a girl) Looks good to me. So remember, if you're gonna wear the tankini, get your hair professionaly done and just walk around on your knees with your hands on your thighs and you'll be set.

i say go with whatever makes you feel comfortable. i personally think most women look decent in a 2-piece, unless they are just really out of shape or something. but if you are going to feel freaked out by the 2-piece, then wear a one-piece.
as passwird said, they look fine on baywatch babes
i guess my policy on stuff like this (with my girlfriend) is that if she's going to be thinking more about what she's wearing and whether it "looks ok" than thinking about whatever it is that's going on (having a good time swimming, at dinner, or whatever), then i'd rather have her wear something that she's comfortable with and can focus on the "fun" part of what's going on around her instead of being paranoid and worrying about how she looks.

Good advice! Your gf is lucky to have such a "with-it" guy!

Two piece. That way you can go topless when only positiverrolemodel is there.

When I dated a woman with a pool, she swam a lot, but didn't own a swimsuit. Now she was fun to date.
