THIEF'S BID TO GET PIN CODE

11:00 - 21 February 2002

A BURGLAR entered a house in Grimsby's Patrick Street and stole a purse containing bankcards, then later called the occupant in an attempt to obtain the Pin numbers.

The house was broken into between 10.30am and noon on Tuesday.

As well as the bankcards, the purse also contained £80 cash.

The victim of the burglary refused to disclose the Pin numbers.

Pc Ron Harrison said: "I would warn people never to disclose their bank details over the telephone."

Not that I always point out every spelling error, but when referring to a genius it is usually better to use the correct spelling.
