I don't get the joke. Am I missing something?
He made the title read 2 tons just to draw in potential buyers. You don't actually get 2 tons of pennies, if you look it says that you get 1 pound for $10.95...
that's actually a decent deal, and a good way to start a collection.
you mean just BUY a collectionOriginally posted by whitak24

I have a decent collection of coins but I know some people who have every penny for the last 100+ years.Originally posted by whitak24

Getting a decent indian penny and 1943 steel penny is definitely worth it - they are hard to find.
I think over again
My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.
And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:
To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.
-old Inuit song
jeez, i can picture these sellers going to the bank... "Hi, i'd like to have a pound of pennies, got another order to fill in... here's $3"
right, but these are "wheat" pennies, which, i believe, were not made after 1952 or so. that means that they are fairly rare.Originally posted by sho.gun

The "wheaties" were discontinued when I was in second grade, so it was probably more likely around 1958.Originally posted by whitak24

stay low... keep moving...
One penny weighs .1 ounce, so 1 pound would have 160 pennies.Originally posted by attgig
how many pennies in a pound?
is it more than 10.95?

I still feel a little joy when I find a wheat penny in my change, but I spend them anyway, because I know some kid somewhere will find it.
Either that, or some old fart will find it and sell it on eBay for 7 cents.
Naww... they're normal pennies, here's what it says on the auction:Originally posted by whitak24

"EVERY POUND WILL INCLUDE:
A BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED WHEAT CENT.
A 1943 STEEL CENT.
AN INDIAN CENT FROM OVER 90 YRS. AGO"
so basically 1 pound will only include 1 wheat penny. Yep, tough trade indeed... makes me wanna go ressurect the twinky i ate for lunch. Hark, Twinky awaken!
looks like another "in the eye of the beholder" thing. try to find a "PAF" humbucker pickup around town and compare it to another regular soap bar humbucker from that time period and tell me if you see a difference.
say "hi" to lumbergh for me
