Damn Hapoo, I told you to come in and post here, but you went nuts hehe. Everybody, I'm sorry for unleashing Hapoo on you. You have to understand he's genetically predisposed to driving a BMW
And 140 posts in less than 24 hours?
Dude, you are going to hit 1,000 posts by end of today just like I predicted! Leon, do I win anything for guessing it would be Hapoo and the date
With regards to reliability, I have been in way too many pissing contests to start talking about it here. All I have to say is don't put all your confidence in JD Powers. They are probably the most accurate surveyors out there, but their methods results in a skewed population response. Take 3 or 4 bio statistics class and you'll see why. This is why medical studies always seem to conflict each other. This is also why those freebies like T-shirts and CDs and such are always answered by the same 10,000 or so people hehe. You know who you are.
The best way to appraise a car's reliability is to go to a mechanic who services all kinds of cars. Ask him what goes bad on this kind of car. Every car has a weakness, and I know them for most cars as I live in freakin Cerritos - a city known only for its Auto Square...sad
I would take chances with a Nissan Maxima over a Toyota Rav 4 anyday as far as reliability is concerned. Ask a mechanic for why. Hmm, didn't Honda start off as only an electrical and high compression gas engine company way back in the day?
Now if anybody wants to try Auto-x or street drag against me let me know
As stated, one of these cars will call to you. Buy that one regardles of minor pricing differences and theorized reliability. What good is a reliable sports sedan if doesn't make you grin every morning

And the reason I mentioned Autobytel is because it worked for all 27 people I referred to it (hey, I didn't make any money). If you've always had to haggle down from the MSRP or advertised price this is the way to go. The fleet or general manager will admitedly let you know exactly how much he is making/losing.
If you don't want to use the service, walk into a showroom, ask for the fleet or general manager. If they are even there, or willing to see you - you can deal. Go in knowing the holdbacks, lotting costs, invoice, and whether cash up front could cut the costs. Most managers I've dealt with aren't happy to take on unscheduled guests, so I recommend Autobytel so that a dealership that is actually interested will call. Hope that helps.

Lieutenant Junior Grade
People who drive Mercedes Benzes are like people who drive Lexuses: very middle class and pretentious. If you don't drive a BMW, drive an American car. American cars aren't pretending to be something they aren't. Hapoo, can I be an honorary Persian since I like BMWs so much? Jennifer

Thought I'd let you freaks know, I just bought a BMW 323i for the wife today...it's really nice and being an Audi and a BMW owner, I now rescind any negative statements about the BMW...both of them own! I traded the Audi in a few months ago for a big Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition...and the BMW makes me miss it!

I had a 97 manuel M3 before and BMW indeed is fun to drive but those small problems made me feel like a slave of my car.
