which RAM to get????

Hey, i have rambus and was wondering which company RAM to go with...
i have 128 total in my computer now thats NEC...
i'm looking to upgrade to 2 sticks of 256

Viking goes for about 90 for a stick...
Kingstons about the same..
then theres NEC for about 70-80
and samsung also about 70-80 a stick...

Does the brand really matter?

also, do i need all my ram to be the same brand since i have NECs so far in my system...

thanks, i really need your help and input... games are lagging on me... need more ram...

IMO, if you stick with brand name ram, you should be fine. Viking and Kingston are probably the best that you've listed, but I'm not sure that they are worth the extra price. If money is a big issue, I'd go with a cheaper brand; if not, get Viking. I'm not sure about the incompatability, but I think you shouldn't have to worry.

most RAM is made by a major company and printed with a different name...for instance my Mwave DDr chip is made by Samsung and my crucial is made by Micron (crucial is owned by micron so that explains that). Anyway...any memory will do just buy the same kind...like don't get PC800 RDRAM when you use 600. And don't buy SDRAm by accident and you'll be alright.
