    Prom Dresses?

I wasn't sure whether I should post this in the Need Deals section, or GGD section, so here I am. (am i the first guy to start a thread in GGD?)

Anyways. A friend of mine is about to go to prom, which is about two weeks away. She's looking for a prom dress. Of course it would be hard to recommend any local stores, so do any of you know of online retailers? If you do know stores local to San Francisco Bay Area, that'd be great too! =)

She's looking for a "poofy" dress, and is looking to spend no more than $200. My friends and I have recommended the following companies already:
    Delias
    Macy's
    Nordstroms
    Jessica McClintock

Are there any other stores that I should suggest for her? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'd look in the yellow pages. I got my senior prom dress from just a local shop and it was cheaper and extremely nice.

She would probably want to be able to try it on to make sure it suits her. I know alot of times I love a dress, and then try it on only to find out it doesn't look that good on me. Also, it would be hard for her to find her perfect color shade online.

The sizing on formal dresses is tricky ... sometimes they're made 2-3 sizes too small or big. She might have always been a 3, but she'll have to squeeze into a size-7 prom dress.

So if it's two weeks away, I wouldn't suggest purchasing it online, unless you're ready to order three different sizes to keep all your bases covered. Has she tried the Nordtrom Rack (downtown SF and San Leandro)?

    Good luck!

Ordering online is a little more expensive in most cases and if she gets it and it doesnt fit, it will take days to return and get a size that will fit her. I suggest going local as well.
