    SS: Radio Shack

I'm sure this is a repost, but I went to Radio Shack today (against my will mind you,) and I looked around and realized: the only things they sell that people want are plugs and adapters. I wouldnt think about buying a cell phone there or a computer and anyone who does should be shot. Sorry if I'm venting but that place is such an insult to even semi-techno savvy people.

Radio Shack rocks, dude. I get all of my electrical components from them! If I need a power relay or a new PCB board in a hurry, off to Radio Shack I go!

but like 'slaw, thats where i go for frankensteining, er, modding my stuff - theyre a good source for component parts (resistors, capacitors, etc)
But I've got a REAL electronics store near me (Crash Electronics, formerly Neutron Electronics). It's a place where the guy really knows his stuff.

I don't have any other electronic or surplus stores near me, so Radio Shack is the only place I can get some items. I go directly to get what I need, pay and then leave. Average time in the store is less than five minutes. I've never needed any help from their sales staff.

All in all, like I said: they are great for plugs, adapters, and wiring stuff, but as for "consumer electronics" they are absolutely worthless.

what scares me is the prices they try to charge for $#!t home theater components....RCA and stuff that i wouldn't take if it was free. who buys that stuff.
in addition, they deserve to be shot in revenge for all their stupid TV commercials.

radio shack is a cheap store, the only thing there are good for is hard to find electronic parts. Anything else, they make a deal with the factory, slap a radio shack sticker on there, and sell it as their own. They only sell rca crap, and their prices are high becuase they dont get much business. Cheap stuff....except for their electronics parts. In that department, they can be a life saver.

Look at all the disrespecting of "America's Technology Store"

It's where I go for all my rechargeable battery needs.

Well, there used to be Allied Radio. Then there was Allied Radio Shack. Then there was the Tandy name.

Speaking of not buying computers from Radio Shack, as much as I have been in their, I have never seen someone buy a computer from them. I think I'd die from laughter.
