I do to, since i"m used to Sanyo's japanese phones on J-Phone or KDDI, but coverage for SPCS blows. VZW people are now entitled to use VZW, SPCS, and alltels networks whenever we want.

wow, looks like they're finally copying the Japanese phone designs. When I was there, I bought a phone and damn...I admit it, became cell dependent. But then everyone there is. Then when I came back to LA, I became disillusioned to the phones here in the U.S., now that these babies are coming out, I MIGHT consider getting them. At least they kind of look the same in pictures, although I'm sure they're significantly weaker because of those laws against the amount of power a phone can use (brain cancer awareness stuff i guess), whereas in japan and korea there aren't any. It'll be expensive though huh...hehe, i'll still buy it.

Same here..I have a J-Phone panasonic phone from when I studied there. When I came back, I looked at my sad sad brick of a startac. I'm glad I got my Sharp phone :-). Is it a Japanese copy? Well, the package i got was printed, made, packaged in japan. And, the Sanyos and the Sharp phones are of course japanese made. I'm a happy man. (/me puts back on his hikki ringer tones) (got them on already!)

By the way, these phones are 2-3x stronger than in japan and korea. It's .2mw vs. .1mw for power. It's because cellsite density is higher in those areas, and building out a network isn't as cost prohibitive as it is in the US. The US has to also factor in Terrain and a large rural area. So, the phone performance demands in the US are much greater than that of asia. Trust me on this one.

cell phones is bleeding over into the fashion scene. its considered a fashion statement to have a stylish phone, so i've perceived, IMO. its like havin a rig with all the bells and whistles, or the latest gadgets, it gets all the ooo's and aaaaah's.. before, people wanted cell phones for the basic use of a mobile phone. the cell phone companies jus continue to develop and shove all this technology in our eye.. and it works.. they have great marketing..

that would be the crack DEALERS who are buying the $20,000 phones since they are rich off of the crack they sell. the crack smokers go for the "cheaper" phones with the proces estimated above. so my previous statement still stands, you gotta be on crack to buy one of those phones.
