A pet peeve of mine is when I buy new toiletry products, and they don't live up to their advertised expectations. (Yes, I'm soooo peeved that I had to start a thread.)

:
MAC Hyper Real Foundation - Easily the best foundation I've ever used. It's silicone-based so it's "skin-like," and it's got that pearl/iridescent sheen that's so popular these days. Might not be ideal for very oily skin.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion - Contains AHA's, great for natural exfoliation, to expose new skin cells. I've actually noticed an improvement in my skin since I started using this. Also comes in sensitive skin formulation (yay!).

Daily Facial Cloths - I can't live without these, and I seriously CAN'T remember how I removed make-up before these came along! Just about every company has a version of these, and guess what? They're mostly the SAME product ... same scent, same cloth texture, etc.! Just get the cheapest one, but be sure NOT to get Neutrogena (see next entry)!

Neutrogena Facial Cloths - I bought these on a whim, but I've always trusted the brand so I figured nothing could go wrong. These were the absolute worst -- I've seen more lather on rabid mice. Instead of going "with" the crowd and using the same cloths, they made theirs out of a fabric that's so slippery I kept dropping it while I was washing.
