I haven't bought it, but I have a bad feeling (from my experience with other Fry's Memory "Specials") that this is probably the 90-day warranty stuff and not something you'd want to be tweaking with...
    I think over again
    My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:

To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.

what company is the ram? one thing I learned, generic rams makes your life miserable

mushkin has the basic to-spec RAM for $128 plus shipping... which is more, but then they have a lifetime guarantee.. and Mushkin is THE ram favored by overclockers. www.mushkin.com.

I got my RAM next day delivered, and I alsoopted for the RAM one level higher than base, because it has better components.

I refuse to buy cheap RAM 'cauze I like to do little overclocking here and there! That's why I have Micron memory in my system but I need another 256MB or 512MB PC2100 stick!

Last weekend I picked up the Fry's special $59 256MB PC2100 DDR memory. I was surprised because first, it was 1 year warranty stuff. Second I was more surprised that it was a Nanya DIMM (7ns). I have it overclocked to 143MHz CAS2 (2-2-2 timings). I'm sure it would do better, but my AthlonXP is locked and doesn't like more than 143MHz FSB (as tested with a good PC133 DIMM before).
    Sys Specs: Dell Dimension 8250, P4 2.4GHz 533MHz FSB, 256MB PC1066, Radeon 9700 TX
Best $241 computer I ever bought.

I bought the 512MB stick today and it's made by Legacy Electronics!!! I used SiSoft but it didn't detect the brand of the memory! I benchmarked both (individually) the 512MB and the Micron 256MB! The speed of both is about the same! I don't know if I should keep the memory or return it and get the Seagate 80GB hard drive! I could always buy Micron memory later when I go to computer fair or swap meet!
