    Tiny tiny discs...

These seem cool, although i know they will be filled with all sorts of copy protections.

new format of media called DataPlay have a 500mb capacity and are about the size of a quarter. They are once writeable but wont let you burn ripped song that contain copyright permissions on them. There seems to be some music industry backing to it unlike the minidisc which never really hit it off.

i dont know, i just like the idea of being able to put a lot of data onto a tiny disc which i can carry in my pocket. hopefully prices will be similar to cd-r.

I look forward to saying "Oh crap... my school project went through the washer and dryer again."

True minidisc hasn't really taken off here but overseas they have.
Recently(about a few months ago), Sony has made it possible to write to minidiscs at higher than 1x speed which was the major drawback I think going against it. Now you can write to minidiscs at like 32x and the minidiscs are $2 each. My two cents

I'm waiting for mini DVD-RWs to become more popular and then having companies use that format for DVD/MP3 players. Mark my words, that would be awesome.
