free items at CompUSA after rebate

All require mail-in rebate. Some items available are: surge protector, joystick, 3 yamaha cdrws, 10 yamaha cdrs, 56k modem, 10 jewel cases, 3 zip cartridge cases, PhotoSuite III, and Acid Music 2.0 software.

did you try the compusa rebates before??
i remember buying a keyboard with a free mail in rebate..and i never received the rebate back...it's now been 1 year...how long do they usually take..i know that compusa is infamous for their fraudulent rebates program...or maybe they just have a high rate of misdirected rebate mail submissions??

I have never had any problems with rebates from them before. I don't think it is through them that most of the rebates are done, though. I have gotten Imation cdrs for free after rebates, and those rebates were from Imation, and I received the check. It was probably within the 6-8 weeks, which seems like forever.

have had some rebates that took a year to get....I was like *wow*, when did i do this???....the fastest rebate was w/ microsoft encarta.

On the Photosuite one.... I went to Office Depot today for my weekly pricematch steals... and it is cheaper at OD. So, but the software at OD for $10 less and use the rebates for a PROFIT of $10.

Also, part of the rebate is for upgrading, so if you don't already have the software, that part won't work for you.

P.S. Wait a minute... if these rebates are specifically FOR COMPUSA only, then the OD deal wouldn't work. I thought they were manufacturers rebates from the ad I saw of theirs. I could be mistaken. I'll leave this post here just in case.
