Do You Ever Feel Sorry for Your Pet?...

for not being able to have the variety of foods that you enjoy?
I just had a small steak sandwich with onions while my cat watched me in that sorrowful look, waiting for me to give him some.
Even though he probably has a more assorted variety of foods than most cats, I feel bad as I chow down the last few bites of that tasty sandwich, licking my fingers while sipping a cup of frshly brewed coffee.
Man, does he ever make me feel guilty!

nah. hell, i don't even feel bad when i make my kid eat his vegetables while i eat all his easter candy.

(i am just kidding. i think. i haven't done it yet, anyway...)

we were talking about pet birds at lunch yesterday, and how in a lot of ways it's sad because many of them don't have the biggest brains around.....but they can fly. the one thing they can do that is special is fly all over. and then people shut them in a 18"x18" cage.

    poor birdies.

nope, i don't feel sorry for them one bit. i mean, when i put dog food in front of my dog, she loved it. my food is better, of course, but hey, she's living here for free so she can't be picky...

true, but then again it would suck to be chained up to a tree or smell your own crap and piss all day like a cat with their litter box...

Well, first cpugeek04, cow milk is VERY bad for cats. You shouldn't give it to her/him!

But on the other hand, I don't feel sorry for our pets at all. They are all spoiled.

Cambell gets a hamburger anytime we have them. His favorite is In and Out. It's the only fries he likes. He also loves stir fry...

Then our cats, well, Lucy, the kitten eats dog food. But Cinni-mini and her both LOVE when we have chicken. When we are triming up the chicken they get the bits. They go crazy!

Then there is Phil -- well, she loves her mice She is very comfy in her cage and out of her cage. If I would let her, she would have free roam of the place... I won't let that happen

And the hampsters, really can't spoil them too much. They roll around in their little plastic balls and scare the cats and the dog. Kinda funny, they have no idea what to do with them!

Free meal and board to sit on their ass and sleep all day. No, I don't feel sorry for them.

If I were to die and be reincarnated, I would definitely want to come back as one of my parent's dogs. They spoil the hell out of them!

As for my pets, I wish I could get a much bigger tank for my turtle, Otis the Diamondback Terrapin, but the optimal habitat for her would cost some serious $$$ that I need to allocate to other things. I hate to keep her in a smaller tank (she just keeps growing and growing and growing...) but at the present time it's the best I can find without getting a custom tank. I once had a good tank for her, but Merlin broke it...
    I think over again
    My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:

To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.

Could you custom one yourself? Plexiglass and sealer? some wood?

Thinking about that, I probably could since I have a garage to build it in now. Her habitat would be a big square about 4'L x 4'W x 1.5'H so there won't be much water pressure there. I would only do it with Plexiglass, though. Regular glass that size gets thick and really heavy.

we could get all the G|A'ers together to chew gum and you could use that to seal it! i bet it's cheaper than that good silicone stuff...

sorry, but your pets don't buy into the.."I stay at home and sleep while you bust your butt and work" philosophy.
It's more like..."I am cute and adorable and I pretend that you are God's gift to humanity...Besides, I am the one cooped up in this house all day...So, get with the program and give me everything I need and desire, or I will sue your butt!"

I don't think this'll stop anything though - the better you idiot-proof a system, the more impressive the idiot becomes.

I NEVER feel sorry for my pets! Hell I wish I was one of my pets-they get belly rubs whenever they roll over, they get fresh icewater all day long, they get to go outside and play, and chew on toys, and have catnip and sleep whenever they want, and eat the best of pet foods (plus the occaisional bowl of sauce),they get to chase frisbees, and birds.....geez..the life of a Pet.Splendid.
