Nice deal Chosen. Isn't Pacific Digital made by Yamaha or something? Someone told me that when I bought my pacific digital 4x burner like 3 years ago. It turned out to be a great buy because I had no problems with it and I think I paid like 100 bux for it.

In summary, Pacific Digital = good burner.

For a little more, there is the Mitsumi 32x12x40 from www.gogotrading.com or www.gogocity.com for $84. Its OEM w/SW. The model is CR-480ATE.

Checked the PACIFIC DIGITAL website and there's nothing about burn protection on this burner... if anything... there was a part in the FAQ that said what you should do if you get a buffer underrun error... so.. even more evidence as to it NOT having any kind of burn protection.
