pretty good...i was kinda scared about mel gibson doing another EPIC kind of war movie...but this one was very different...a differnent kind of hero...
plus it put U.S. soldiers in vietnam in a different light...most of what we hear are all the messed up stuff like we see in platoon (which is a great movie)...but this one portrayed more of the positive qualities...
You're packing a suitcase for a place none of us has been
A place that has to be believed to be seen (Walk On - U2)
HEBREWS 11:13-16
This conveyed lots of feelings that differ from the recent slew of war movies -- they're usually desperate and cynical, but this one made me feel hope, love and pride. Lots of likeable characters. I started crying at the end ...
I do have ONE complaint, and that's with the current trend of "Let's see how grisley we can make this casualty so we can gross out the audience in the name of 'realism.'" I know that war isn't beautiful, but it seems like each war film aims to top the previous one in this area. Blech. Just don't have a large meal before seeing this.
You could have it all
My empire of dirt

same director and producer from braveheart, i sure hope it is good. Just have to wait and see.........
Just saw it yesterday, big thumbs up from me. Well I don't have thumbs so big tongues up from me. I thought the movie was really touching too, and that one napalm scene... ugh that was disturbing to say the least. But I loved the movie, I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Got|Platoon? I can't watch a vietnam movie without thinking how much better platoon is then all the rest.
I havent watched it yet, but I have heard that its worth seeing.
Actually Mel Gibson directed Braveheart but the two movies do share a similar producer.Originally posted by trinitron

The two best/most accurate Vietnam War movies--IMO--are Hamburger Hill and 84 Charlie Mopic. A Bright Shining Lie was another good one.Originally posted by Cantacuzene

I'll see this one eventually, though, so I'll suspend judgment until then.![]()

It is not enough to merely touch the face of god; you also must open your eyes so that you may see your palm.

i knew it was the same something or other
actually one of the weaker war movies i've seen. Some scenes just seemed totally out of place. Like when the guy started taking pictures..i was like..uh ok...
and anybody else see the dead corpses breathing? =) I was just looking at that since one of my friends was an extra..it also looked like the dead bodies were smirking sometimes, like when they were piling them on in the end..=)
Just say 'No' to Altezzas.
Friends don't let friends drive automatic
I thought the movie was pretty good.. I did'nt notice the corpses breathing, I guess I gotta watch it a few more times. Did you catch all that in the first time u watched it? How perceptiveOriginally posted by dRu168
