lookiong for Region free DVD player

Are there any suggestions on where to get/ what to get?

i'm wondering if there's any that does not require and "remote control" config where everytime u watch a dvd from a different region you have to type in the code from your remote...
    many thanx.

    Try an Apex DVD player...

Just make sure you can get one that is hackable... See the got deals forum for the one on sale...

I have one that I've had for a while now... Cheap and plays everything....

    additional question

I found some dvd players that are region free at

    http://www.world-import.com/dvd.htm

but I'm wondering if these are worth it or is it even safe to buy something like that from this site...

anyone has any suggestions/ comments on this?

I'm not sure what to do in terms of installing the "modification" on dvd players, so maybe someone can help me out.. ie where can it be done, what u need to get...and so on..
I already have 2 dvd players one for parents and one for myself, but I'd like to get one that has region free...

check out this thread, which details another member's search for a region-free player (i don't feel like summarizing it here, so take a look. all the links you need are there).

suffice to say that the pioneer he bought is going to be a heck of a lot better than any apex in existance.

    Visit: http://www.vcdhelp.com

They have a list of DVD players and which ones are hackable to become region free. They also have a lot of resources on how to make your own VCD, SCVD, AVI, MPG, whatever.

    and finally~!

I ordered a PIoneer DV533 region free player from somewhat shady looking on line source. world gift center or something.. that's what it's called.
My hdd blew up a few days ago so I don't remember the link but I'll post it up when I find it. They had free UPS shipping and were really good overall... not so shady at all..
they have a variety of other regionfree players (I think they modded them all) in many name brands...etc.
Run a search at www.google.com for "region free DVD players"
and you'll see the site, otherwise I'll jsut leave the URL later on.
    Thanks for all your help.
Personally I tried the APex one and it was just too much hassel and so is the Daewoo's DV3000... where you had to play with the remote to change the regions.. .and this pioneer one u don't have to do anything like that.. so..
    yea~

I like pioneer stuff heh heh..
