AMEX Blue Cardholders

I just had my first problem with the Blue card after almost a year of having it. Anyway, they sent me a letter a few months ago extending my no interest period to one year. Every month, though, they have been charging me interest on new purchases. The CService had been great and every month they refunded the charge. They said that the computer didn't automatically do it and to just call in and they would manually do it until my interest free period was up at the end of August. Tonight, I called to get the charge taken off and the CS lady wouldn't remove it. She said that the people before that had done it were "just being nice." She said that I would have to fax her the letter stating the new extension. Of course, I have every other letter from them except that one. I guess it was a bad month to splurge on that new computer and think that I had until school starts back to pay it off. Anyway, why deals forum? Because the deal was that she told me that when I signed up for the BlueLoot and BlueRewards program that were free online, that the small print said that it would cancel my no interest period to become a member, FREE??? So, bottomline (the way to maximize the deal)- Great Card, but don't sign up for those programs until after your free period is up and keep all letters from them. Hope this helps any gotapex members to have better luck with it in the future.

I signed up for it awhile ago and sadly got rejected and was told to apply for one of thier UGLY cards... I'll try again because I want that card reader dealy unless it's already expired

I probably wouldn't use it anyways, not many places take American Express, I just like the way it looks... ooooohhh.

They were charging interest on new purchases? It was my understanding that you didn't get charged interest unless you carried a balance over from month to month.

Am I misunderstanging?
