    Thumbs up

good going! im looking to get a hold of a 1.6a myself, great chip with great potential.
sometimes 3dmark doesnt want to run when im ocing my p4.
it's usually after i make some changes in the bios(cpu). i can start one of my games(currently DS) and come back later and run 3dmark(w/out shutting down the puter). if i oc the cpu at all and run dramatic 3dmark will only start half the time. sometimes i think dramatic(ram saving program) does more harm than good.
good luck Cf and give us some scores,

Cf, hows xp? i have been using 98se but i have a copy of 2000 that im thinking of trying. i noticed people using other op systems seem to get better results with similiar setups as mine.
my p4 1.7 says locked. i assume i can only oc it by the fsb(need that 1.6a). i have the msi 845 board and having trouble finding the sweet spot for ocing my cpu. ram speed options is:auto/200/266. i tried auto and 200 and 266. Auto basically places it on 266. at the 200 setting i can get the cpu to around 1.9 but my ram is stuck under 250mhz. if i leave it at auto or 266 the system shuts down at 105-106fsb. i'm running corsair 2100 ram that for some reason doesnt want to go any higher than 280mhz(if that). Think im doing something wrong here. nothing new with that .

ps: in bios what timer setting are you using for your ram?

i was going to start a new thread but i think you might have already answered my question. i have the msi 845 ultra board and it supports 2100 ddr. can i use 2400 or 2700 (300mhz/333mhz?)? even if my board doesnt support it, should'nt i be able to run the DDR slower than the rams stated mhz and than oc the fsb? i found some at frys for less than what i paid for my 2100 and would like to exchange it if it might help my performance.
since i have to oc the cpu by the fsb, do i have to start the memory setting at 200mhz? by the time i get the cpu over 2ghz the memory will be around 266mhz. if i start it at my ram setting 266mhz it would end up way too high when my cpu hits 2ghz.
    thanks,
