Pausing in Behind Enemy Lines ?
I did not see this movie at the theater but when watched from dvd last night, I noticed that there are 3 pauses around the 22-minutes into the film. It's the part when the missile about to hit the jet. There were no sound, just static noise during the pausing period. Just wonder if it's normal or I have a bad dvd disk. Thank you.

that would be the dvd. it can be your dvd player, certain brands and models will pause a movie for a split second to "catch up", but thats when its been running for an hour or two. it has to be your disk, hope you rented it and not bought it....well if you did buy it, return it say its defective. also, if you rented, tell them that it was defective, and they will probably give you a free rental depending on where you rented it from.
just say" the movie was defective with static interruptions"
"it was really annoying"
or just dont worry about it, and let the next unsuspecting customer rent it

Hi Trinitron. It happens on two DVD players that I have as well as on the dvd-rom player on my computer. I did exchange to a second copy from Circuit City and have the same problems at the same spots. Which leads me to wonder that they got a bad batch or this is the way it supposes to be on the film. I can try to rent a VHS version this weekend to see if it has the same problem. Thank you.

if it happens in all of your dvd players....trying 3 is enough to see that it is not you. i would go get another from cc, and before you play that one, go rent a copy. do a search here on apex for hollywood video coupon, you will get a coupon that allows you to rent it for $.99. $.99 isnt that much, just to test. the test will tell you numerious things, if all of your dvd players going bad(highly unlikely)...unless all of the same brand, or if cc has a bad batch(probably) if the test goes bad and the new dvd(your 3rd i think), then it is probably your players. if test works out ok, but the 3rd from cc doesnt work, do one of two things: buy a 4th and make them play it in the store(and dont take any bull**** about them not having a dvd player hooked up), or just get your money back and buy elsewhere

Um... I know exatly what you are talking about. that is supposed to be that way. That is how it was in the theater and that is how it is on the DVD.

Yup, my copy does the same thing. Just some creative editing for dramatic effect...

Thank you all for the input. I rented a VHS copy over the weekend and it has the exact same pauses. I can guess it's how it was filmed. Thank you once again.

We watched it last night and it did the same thing off of our DVD too. I dont know whats up with that. They were thinking it was just a quiet part in the movie, but that didnt really make a lot of sense.
