Question about periods (Guys, don't read. ;) )

Well, it's that time again. I should have known, since a few days ago, I had severe diahrea for about a day. Also, I've been extra tired for about a week and today, my allergies went haywire. I started my monthly tonight. *sigh*

Does all that crap happen to the other women on here? Or am I just lucky? lol

    Feeling punny, are we?

This question was actually raised in a recent issue of Self magazine ...

Every month, in preparation for your menstrual period, chemicals called prostaglandins are released from the cells in the pelvic area. They enter your bloodstream, where they immediately go to work stimulating contractions in local muscle tissue. This is good when it comes to your uterus: the contractions get menstrual flow started and help the uterus expel all the tissue. But, unfortunately, prostaglandins aren't blessed with pinpoint accuracy. "The intestine is the next-door neighbor to the uterus, and these same chemicals may overstimulate it, leading to diarrhea," says Bruce Bekkar, M.D. Luckily, anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen can reduce cramping and diarrhea.

What I want to know is...

How does this *monthly* occurence surprise you???

Ive had at least 2 ex's and a few female friends, who still get *surprised*. I thought girls kept track of things like this. Hell even I kept better track of it than the ex's previously mentioned.

    :laugh2: Pink, that was hilarious!

First of all, this "monthly" occurrence isn't quite so monthly. Sometimes it's a few days off, sometimes it's a few weeks off. For some women, it's really erratic (I know someone who skips MONTHS).

When she cries during "Bambi" and has threatened to flatten your skull with an array of kitchen utensils, determining that it's "occurring" doesn't take a rocket scientist.

Problem is, it's really simple to identify as an observer. To us, YOU were just being super annoying that day.

That i could understand..but the ones im speaking of were all pretty regular. Ex #1 99% of the time had it on the same day every month. Friend #1 would have it exactly 27 days later 90% of the time. They just didnt keep track of it.

I don't keep track of a specific date. I know it happens at the very end of the month, though. The month had just flown by, with all the moving stuff & other crap going on.

i *often* get suprised because i've never been regular. i've tried all sorts of different medications and for some reason, my doctor doesn't want to put me on birth control to regulate it.
