I'm pretty into home theater because I'm a movie buff but I just can't keep track of all the model numbers of everything. I got my tax return so last week, I went out and bought one of those home-theatres-in-a-box deals at Circuit City. It was a Sony (probably the lowest end system with 450watts) and was on sale for $270 so I said what the heck. I live in an apartment that I plan on moving out of in 2-3 years and then having a really nice system, but for the price I paid on this, I am REALLY impressed with the sound. I'm not using the original satellite speakers for the front though because I have a pair of rather old JBL 3-ways that I think are better suited for front duty. I also think they just look better in my living room. I don't know the serial number of these, just that they have titanium tweeters. I already have a 26" Sony WEGA and a Toshiba DVD player.
Bottom line, I'm really impressed at the quality of a roughly $300 all in one package.
Now if only the PS2 price would go down....
