    mushroomhead

ok, i know memo listens to rock but what about some others here on the board??

Recently me and my friends discovered mushroomhead and have been hooked but alot of poeple pass them off as slipknot lookalike maskrockers. If anyone here listens to them please tell me they dont sound like slipknot! mushroomhead has a very unique sound mixing in some industrial, techno, heavy metal and some rap

anyone here like them? listen to them? comments about them?

    ME! ME! ME!

Mushroomhead rocks. Lots of people do pass them off as a Slipknot rip off or some people say Slipknot ripped them. It doesn't really matter, they are completely different. Mushroomhead is known for their range of styles. Their songs are pretty bad ass. I tend to like their older stuff more but their new CD (XX) is good too. They came to play in Austin at a club here over Spring Break but I was snowboarding in Lake Tahoe . A friend saw them up in Seattle at a club and said it was a bad ass show. If any of you are planning on going to Ozzfest this year (which will probably suck) they will be there; only redeeming factor along with Ozzy, Rob Zombie and Glassjaw. Anyways, I know some people on this board like metal and heavier stuff than crap like Linkin Park, they should check them out.

That would be me! *see sig*

I haven't checked out Mushroomhead yet. I'm not a big fan of Slipknot, so you if you say that Mushroomhead is different, then I might actually like them.

Ya. I like Slipknot but I wouldn't hesitate they're nu-metal marketed towards rebellious little 14 year olds who like to hear a million cuss words in a song. The thing about Mushroomead is that you have to like Jeffrey Nothing's voice (one of the lead vocalists). Out of their older stuff I like: The Final Act, Inevitable, Fear Held Dear. Their new CD is their first commercial release, but it has some good songs, I mostly like: these Filthy Hands, Solitaire Unraveling (first single), Never Let it Go, 43. What bands do ya like 'slaw?

When I mention heavier stuff, I mean HEAVY stuff.

You will probably be shocked to hear this, but some of the bands that I like are Opeth, Dream Theater, Entombed, Motorhead, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, and Deicide to name a few. Death and black metal at its best. If you have never listened to this kind of music, it might take a while for it to grow on you. The reason I love it is because it is full of so much energy. I can come home from work and fire up some Opeth and feel invigorated and relaxed at the same time. It's also great driving music, too.

I enjoy other types of music as well, but death metal is definitely one of my favorites.

I was at my cousin's house yesterday and I finally heard Mushroomhead. yes, my first thought was, whoa, it's slipknot pt.II. but i kept listening to it, and i liked them a lot. The dual singer thing was kind of cool since they both have totally different sounds. The video's imagery was really nice (they were "playing" in a desert). Memo has told me to listen to them, but this was the first time I really listend to them. may have to acquire more of their music.
'Slaw, I listen to most of those bands you named.

So driving agressively at 115 MPH on the freeway = driving better?
