i retract my previous statement, these kind of angles are possible, i looked at this pic in photoshop turned to the side and minimized the magnification so it all fits on the screen and yep it looks just right

Yeah but getting the scaling and shading right would be difficult. I think it is simply one of those panoramic cameras. Preyyy cool, but my question still stands - where are the photographer's feet?

in this case it's not really needed, all you need is a certain height and a good fish eye, also some framing and exposure skills and you got yourself a picture
