cd drive won't recognize my cd's.

I just burned a data cd with ez cd creator, and when it was done the cdrw didn't read the cd at all. I then put the cd into my dvd drive and that drive didn't read the cd either. I click on the dvd drive and it just says " please insert a disk into drive d:" Why won't my cdrw and dvd rom recognize the cds i put into the drives? and yes i am waiting long enough for the drive to recognize the cd. I can probably restart my computer and the cd will be recognized in the drive, but i don't want to have to do this each time i use a cd. Not sure how I acquired this problem. Any ideas on this? im using windows xp professional. Thanks.

Either you didn't close the session or finalize the CD!

yes the cd is finalized and i should also probably tell you that the cd drives don't read any cds, whether they are games, dvds, burned cds.
