    Evil Overload obtains house

Alrighty, as a present to myself, I aquired a house. now, I need to furnish the place. Any ideas?

also, I need to get myself a washer and dryer for my clothes. The evil reverend can't go around preaching in stinky clothing. it's just not right.

well that totally depends on your cash flow...if this is your first house, don't skimp and scrape on important stuff..while I would advise someone in an apt. to get a used washer and dryer, I wouldn't for a homeowner. Simply because the risk of it going bad faster is more apparent, hence more bills than you'll already have besides a mortgage, and insurance. So spend the bux and get a good washer and dryer. As far as furniture-hard to say..what kind of taste do you have? again, how much do you want to spend? My suggestion, since its YOUR house now, and you can do what you want with it, do ONE ROOM at a time. Well duh, you say, but what I mean is,aside from your necessary furniture like a bed, table and chairs, take the time to decide if you want to paint, what color, what kind of furniture etc. Your'e not going anywhere,so take your time, and enjoy your house and get it the way you want it.

hehe, one of the main things I really need to know is WHERE to buy washers and dryers. I've never gone shopping for them and i've never looked for them. So i have no clue where they would be to buy. I was thinking Sears might have it, but that's just because they have tons of junk.

I'll take some pictures once I start moving in. I'm really busy around here right now, so I don't have time to take pictures. sorry.

Inflatable furniture. Will solve all your needs. Cheap. Easy to move. Easy to pack. Easy to clean. Comfortable.

i have become totally ANTI IKEA lately.

it turns my stomach when i walk into someone's apartment and can name all their furniture... partly because i own many of the same items, and partly because i've spent way too much time checking everything out.

if u do go to ikea, make sure you mix the stuff up with non ikea things. the display rooms look really cool in the store, buy not in your house, imho.
i'd rather be down the shore
OH SNAP! guess where I am?

I was living down the jersey shore before Jersey Shore.

How does anyone even watch that show???

You can also get a washer/dryer at Home Depot, Lowes, places like that. Congrats on your new house!!!

Oh yeah! I second this one! They have great prices and extended warranties too.

Sears is good too, just don't use their credit

Our first apartment had a washer and dryer in it that the previous tenants did not want to move, so we offered them $50 for the pair, and they lasted 11 years before we finally replaced them. They were Whirlpools.

And you could probably buy 3 sets of washer/dryers for the price of those!

I am so incredably pissed right now. The house was basically mine. All I had to do was sign a few things and then a done deal. Damn bastards were all happy to say, "Yes, we want to take your money. come over later today around 4 and we can get everything done."

When I got there, they were like, "oh, ya... I forgot. I told another person they could buy it."

    goddamn *******.

there's more to the story, but that's the gist of it. now I have to go out and find another place. I am not pleased at all. damn bastards.

Hmm... Sounds like a potential lawsuit in the making.

Oh man, that SUX! I'd be pissed too.

As fas as W/D's I bought a Kenmore - had it for 4 years and no problems. I bought the largest capacity washer they had, cuz I hate doing laundry and I can get it done in fewer loads. Also I can fit my comforter in there instead of having to take it to a laundromat.

Just recently bought a nice Kenmore side-by-side fridge as well.

I think we all know what can happen to people who buy too much Ikea furniture...
    I think over again
    My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:

To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.
