Read the book about 5+ years ago and thought it was really great. Most Clancy books are. After seeing the trailor for the movie it looks like it will be nothing at all like the book.

And Ben Affleck as Jack Ryan.. I just don't know about that one.

I've never read any of Clancy's books, but I like most of the movies that are based on them. I'm just not sure if this is one of those movies I'd go out of my way to see...

i heard there was some debate over the release of this movie coming too soon after 9/11, and it had something to do with nuclear bombings the storyline, which i know nothing about.

I watched it tonight. Pretty good I'd say.. but a lil drawn out.. i went expecting much more action.. but its a lot of politics.

the movie did in fact remind me of 9/11.. when the bomb blew... i could see the whole audience totally quiet and just glued to the movie.. i'm sure almost every single person in that theater had some memories rekindled of that dreaded September day.

It was a good movie, but nothing like 9/11 except for maybe end feelings.
