    Looking for Optical Mouse

    I'm looking for an optical mouse with scroll wheel to replace the old one. Which one would you recommend?

    do you mean optical? If so the Intellimouse explorer is great from Microsoft. Or try the Logitec Dual Optical

    Consider going cordless, also. I have a Logitech cordless Mouseman wheel and I love it. I bought it as a package with the Logitech iTouch keyboard. No cords on my desktop! I'm going to upgrade to a cordless optical (probably from Logitech also) soon in order to avoid the usual "ball-type" mouse problems like dust and dirt. My $.02

    sorry for the typo, yes, I'm looking for optical mouse. Two friends of mine had Logitech Optical mouse and already sold them on eBay. They said the performance sucks (they play lots of CS).

    The reason I want an optical mouse is that I'm sick and tired to clean the mouse every month. The dust really affects the performance so I figure optical mouse may be my solution. Have you used any optical mouse? I guess I'll go to my local Staples and test out their mouse. Optical with wireless sounds very good for me.

    I have a question regarding the coreless device. How can it transmit the data back to the system? Do I need to install some other part other than the mouse?

    Nope. Your PC has mystical ESP, so it knows exactly where you want to move the cursor.

    On a more serious note, though, Yes, there is a receiver connected to the USB or PS/2 dongle that sends the data to the system like a corded mouse.

    I would not recommend going cordless if you are a serious gamer. The resolution is not as high as the optical mice, so you may experience jumpiness if you move the mouse across a longer distance very quickly.

    I highly recommend the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer or the other MS varieties of the optical mouse. I have been using mine for about 2 years now and the silver paint is starting to fade where I click!

    The Logitech regular optical wheel mouse is a good one. I've been using mine for around 1 1/2 years and it hasn't failed me yet. The dual optical mouse it also a comfortable (imo) mouse to use.

    I've been using Logitech Mouseman Wheel for couple years and I really do like the egornomical design. I tested out every mouse that is available at my local staples and most mouse are a little too small for me or not as comfortable as my logitech one. Finally I came across an IBM optical mouse that looks almost identical to the Mouseman Wheel and cost like $30.

    At home I'm using MS Intellimouse and it's too small for me.

    How is the quality of IBM mouse?

    You must have monster hands!! But the Explorer by MS is ergonomically shaped, and larger than the intellimouse, I think.

    my vote goes toward logitech. I have yet to have any problems with them I hate the MS ones. They arent as comfortable as the logitech in my opinon.

    I have an apple pro mouse optical that i'll sell ya!! It looks cool, but the single button blows.

    i have both logitech and microsoft optical. i have no complaints. logitech is slight smaller.

    I'm giving my new Logitech Optical Mouse a test right right now...

    Though I've only had it hooked to my system for about 5 mins, I have no complaints!
