    scandisk bombs out on me

    I've got Windows 98 SE. After installing a new video card last week I've been coming up with problems. I tried running scandisk and it says scandsk something file has messed up and that's all she wrote. It won't run again.

    So I rebooted and did the command prompt and did the regular scandisk.exe and did a surface scan. After that, I tried doing the scandisk from Windows and got the same thing. Sigh...whats up with that? Fixes? I'm hoping this clears up my printer problems.

    Try booting into safe mode and running scandisk.
