    Nice...

When I get finished moving and get situated in a better job, I think I'm going to build a new system from scratch...

I have to admit, the P4s are looking more tempting every day.
It is not enough to merely touch the face of god; you also must open your eyes so that you may see your palm.

Bad ass man. I just ordered my upgrade too, except it sort almost an entire new rig. My rig right now has been overheating like CRAZY. The T-Bird 900 Mhz in it will constantly stay over 60 degrees C. Checked the heatsink and everything, I think it's just dying on me. So I figured what the heck, i'll get a new motherboard, well....new motherboard needs new ram soooo.....it all snowballed into

    MSI KT333 KT3-ULTRA-ARU
    Corsair 512 PC2700 Cas2 Ram
XP 1800+ (I didn't go all out because I figure by XMAS AMD might quick slacking on the pimpin and try to kick P4 ass again)
Western Digital 80GB "Special Edition" 8MB Cache Hard Drive
    MSI Geforce4 4200 128MB

And since most of those components are red, I got some red rounded cables too

Here is what I'll be adding from my old rig:
    Lite-On 32x CD-RW
    Pioneer 16x DVD-ROM
    3Com NIC

    CF,
Long time no see. Whats your 1.6a clocked at nowadays?
That ram should help a lot. I think Video cards are overpriced right now. The technology is awesome but there has to be big drops as soon as 2 the other card makers hit the market. I see you more as a Matrox type of guy anyways. 1 screen for IM, 1 screen for movie/tv and 1 for "work."
I like my msi 645 board but it really needs some more bios oc options. More voltage settings would be nice. I still havent shorted my 1.6 for extra volts.
My system is completly apart. I put most of the parts into my old case. Its all ghetto just good enuff to run 1.6a @1.6 . Cd rom at a side angle cuz I didnt want to remove the sliders. No doors. etc.
My Antec 1030b its completly in pieces. I'm 90% done with my custom window and top blow hole etc. Will be painting the whole inside(white) and outside(black). I painted the front bezel and modded it. Hopefully it turns out right. Work has been crazy so this project will take an extra 2 weeks.
Will finish case mod, max stable ocing(2.5+hopefully) and look for next project. Your thinking refridgeration, me H2O.
    Good luck

ps:been reading about burning in memory. my corsair xms2700c2 went as high as 360mhz(180 ddr). i'm not sure if I need to raise voltage to burn it in but i read you set it to most stable settings and oc it as high as you can for like 6 hours. it supposed to run better at c2 etc. any thoughts?

Sounds like a nice system, cf. I was just salivating over the Compaq dual 2G Xeon (scsi) system that TigerDirect is selling for $2000. Man, that looks like a scorching hot system (except for being a major-branded system, which means the options of tweaking things will likely be limited).
    stay low... keep moving...

Thats pretty much what I got for my friend, except I got the KT333 Gigabyte Mobo something like GA 7 RXVP or something, but in any case it did pretty well in benchmarks and has built in LAN. Liteon burner, same HDD, chip, different company but still the same Vid Card, and I went with a stick of 256 crucial 2700 instead...Corsair too expensive for this system.
