Personally I think passwird should be unbanned. He told me that he hadn't read the no n00b-flaming penalty or something as it had just been put up recently and he wasn't even posting with malice - considering there was a smily there anyway. Whatever, it don't mean a thang anyway.

Now that I haven't slept In quite a while, I think it's time to formulate some sentences. Probably not the best idea in the world, but heck, I’ll give it a shot.
The main thing I have to say about this ordeal is: What the hell is wrong with Apex?
I mean I agree with him that there shouldn’t be any bashing of the new members. That’s just being a dick and that’s not cool at all. But, when current forum members are telling a new one that he is being rude and Apex sticks up for the rude new guy, it implies something. At least it implied something to me: Apex doesn’t really care about the current forum members, so long as new ones join that’s all that really matters.

well, i'm glad that pass, revil, and aglio are all back. it's just disappointing because all three of you are a real big part of this forums. i know that i've seen all three of your posts in just about every forum, and the best thing for a good forums is people that keep it alive. i know i don't know the whole story, i pretty much missed the whole damn thing. but i'm glad y'all (<---country grammer)are back. the feeling i get is that you guys got banned for something that wasn't warrented. i mean, i remember when people like xsiled got banned and he was truely remorseful, so i suppose in that case he did something wrong (or maybe my memory is shotty)...but this case does have a hint of absurdity.

I can understand your points too, revil, and I even empathize with you on some levels. However, you must also look at it from Apex's point of view: he might have just been trying to curb a situation before it started; he might even have just gotten a little short because he was upset about the entire situation himself. Either way, though, you should probably take it as a compliment--Apex is showing a great deal of respect for you three by holding you to a higher standard. n00bs are, by definition, new, and they don't necessarily know the rules yet. You three are all long time members, and shouldn't need to be warned. Therefore, an older member will always get banned before a newer member. Just some things to think about.
Also, one last thing. You've made a very logical and concise argument for why you shouldn't have been banned, and you deserve an explanation, whether it be here or in PM. BUT, by getting too emotional towards the end, and saying some things that you probably shouldn't have said, you've gone and completely f'ed up your argument. My suggestion: edit.

well, i'm glad the three of you weren't permanently banned and were allowed to return to share your wit and wisdom with all of us
i see where you're coming from revil......i too find it hard to be super-nice to n00bs who come in and are complete asses to everyone.
but at the same time, apex is just trying to do what he thinks is going to make this a good community. at least the damage wasn't permanent.....
Rant or logical thought, what's the purpose of calling someone/anyone (in this case Apex) a dick? In most any civilization, society or community, there's plenty of room for disagreement -- for voicing displeasure with decisions made by decisionmakers. To resort to name-calling like that is juvenile. Personally, I hope that nothing bad comes of it, but it could. There are generally consequences to actions or words like those contained in the rant. Sometimes those consequences aren't commensurate to the intent of the words or actions, but that's the price to be paid, and that's a lesson I've learned first-hand. I don't mean to be a prude but the use of such terms doesn't cast anyone in the best light, most notably the person using them.
