so yeah, i rented a few flicks last night, one of them being Vittorio De Sica's "The Bicycle Thief."

as i understand it, this is supposed to be an monumental piece of film history, but no one has ever explained to me why. i'm just curious if anyone knows the answer.

oh, and i happened to like the film, but i didn't know what to expect, so the abrupt ending took me by surprise.
