Here's an interesting comment made by a reader in the latest issue of PC Magazine:
The music business is clinging to an old and unfair business model that needs to be restructured or abolished. Artist's contracts are written such that the record company passes all costs incurred during the recording, manufacturing, promoting and selling of an album to the artists. Artists must work hard and pray that they sell enough to get the opportunity to make a second record so that they can get further in debt to the company. Streamlining the promotion process wiith P2P distribution would only help artists, but record companies aren't interested.
