I know for us fellas (and heck, ladies too)it can be tough sometimes to come up with creative ways of showing the wife/girlfriend how we feel about them. Not long ago I came up with a real good one and I thought I'd share with the group.
A couple months after we got married I had to leave town for a few days for a convention. My wife kept going on about how much she was going to miss me and how empty the house would feel with me gone.
I wanted to come up with a way for her to feel like I was still around even though I was hundreds of miles away. After mulling it over for a while it hit me. I grabbed a stack of paper off the printer and a black felt marker. I started writing short love notes. Nothing deep, just little quickies. "Guess who misses you?". "WOW! You are one HOT mama!". "SMOOCH! Ha! I just kissed you!". You get the idea.
I made about 20 of these and started hiding them around the house. In her dresser drawer, under her pillow, behind her bath towels. Anywhere where I know she wouldn't be able to see them, but would find them eventually.
That night I called home and my wife was thrilled. She had found one, then another and once she realized what I had done she scoured the house trying to find them all. Regardless, she was still finding new notes right up until I came home. She said it was one of the sweetest things I had ever done for her.
So there you go. Give it a shot on your significant other the next time you go away. Works wonders!
