    What is the Cheapest way to hook up 2 Computers with 1 phone line?

    What is the Cheapest way to hook up 2 Computers with 1 phone line? I'm getting a new PC and my BF want's my old one!

    Crossover cable and two network cards.

    You can use a internet sharing software (free in some cases) to share the internet connection

    Cool Thanks, So I go off to the store and a buy crossover cable and 2 network cards then find some shareware and I'm all set?

    Hmmm, I don't know what the price on a crossover cable is, but you MIGHT be able to find a small hub for cheap too... <$20 maybe...

    Also, what OS are you using? Every Windows OS 98se and later is pretty good about networking multiple PCs... it should have a networking wizard built in.

    Oh yeah, forgot about Win98se and that little internet sharing thing it does.

    You'll probably have a difficult time unless you get some additional proxy software. Built-in support for connection sharing didn't appear until Win98se.
