On my server, every few minutes the floppy drive will access for no apparent reason. This has been happening for a while and its not that big of a deal. I have noticed it happens even if I reformat. Any ideas?

Are you using SP2 with active directory? This was a known issue for which Microsoft had no solution as of a few months ago, though that theoretically could have changed by now. But what are the chances?
