can u use them on anything? or does it have to be xm stuff?

No but they are good as cash, so like I did if you go to say Best Buy and then price match a different online retailer, they will do the pricematch AND take the gift check [since it's essentially dealt with like cash]. It's good on any XM Radio like the Sony plug & play (the one I have) or the Pioneer.
