I didn't know Staples did processors until a couple of days ago. As we all know, Staples, on average, has higher prices than others. But when tactfully(key point, NO STACKING!) used, the coupons can make some awesome deals. The Celeron 533 is $113.49 there. The people around there aren't really sure whether it's a old chip or "celermine". So, shall we suggest what it is? If they will sell the 533A for that price, check it out:

Don't bother with the Staples deal unless they lower their price on the 566 (it's not even posted yet). The reason why I wanted to do staples instead of buy.com is because with the Staples deal, you would get free inkjet paper, a camera, and free shipping.

Nope, Celermines start at 533 MHz and 533A denotes a Coppermine core.

how do u find out if it's celermine..and what's the diffrence?

Just went to Staples to check it out and ask them. They are not Celermine chips. BTW they had Diablo II for $40 after the $20 instant rebate that was stated in an earlier post--they said 'this week only' for the game.

i just called staples up....it's not a celermine...it's boxed and has 3 year warranty and is socket version..

does anyone know where i can find a 533A celermine that is cheap...and what is the diffrence between a regular and celeron 2 precossor

Well, some of you seem to not know about the new celerons...I'll explain:

Old Celeron:
-old core(maxing out at 580-650)
-no SSE instructions

New Celeron:
-new core(maxing out at 850-1000)
-SSE instuctions

As you can see, if you're an overclocker, the new celeron would be much better for you.
Even if you don't overclock, the SSE may help a bit.

NOW ONTO BUSINESS. They also have products available that are not on their website. They also sell the Celeron 566, but for as much as the P3 650. Why? Because it's not on their website, meaning they don't carry regular stock. If we can request the 566, this could work well.

Not only is the L2 cache halved on the CeleronII, the cache latency is also set to 2 (rather than the P3's latency of 0) which also hinders performance.

No matter what I do, I can't get my 466 to 630, whether it's a Golden Orb or FDP32(both with silver paste)...*sigh* I guess I have to live with 613...

I have to agree with chosenfool on the Radio Shack paste. I use it also and have had excellent results. Here's a little link to help the argument for this cheap but effective goop.

Here is the best heatsink grease you can buy.

Negligible electrical conductivity (similar to Radio Shack's Zink Oxide stuff) with the best thermal conductivity around. Excellent spreadability and texture as well.

Arctic Silver is what I have (the stuff bdwilcox is taking about). It is the best stuff you can buy. In every round-up I've seen, it won. There are two types: small contact (coppermine), and large contact (well, anything with large contact area...)
They are 13.95 each. Not exactly cheap, but there is an inferior silver paste that sells for more! AND THIS STUFF IS NON-ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE! Go buy some NOW!
